LG Electronics plans to combine its PC and phone businesses in order to focus on converged products. Under the plan, the PC business unit will transfer from LG’s Digital Media (DM) business division to its Mobile Communication (MC) business division. No job cuts would result from the reorganisation.

Nokia predicted yesterday that the mobile phone market would grow by 10 percent next year to more than 1.2 billion units, says Xinhua. Nokia said Tuesday that it was now targeting a one to two-year group operating margin (the proportion of revenue after production costs are subtracted) of 16-17 percent, up from its previous target of 15 percent.
