Netflix reported results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2008. Company has 25 percent year-over-year growth in subscribers and a 14 percent increase in EPS for the quarter. Netflix ended the second quarter of 2008 with approximately 8,411,000 total subscribers, representing 25 percent year-over-year growth from 6,742,000 total subscribers at the end of the second quarter of 2007 and 2 percent sequential growth from 8,243,000 subscribers at the end of the first quarter of 2008.

Results:

Subscribers - 8.4 million
Revenue - $337.6 million
GAAP Net Income - $26.6 million

Vodafone today announces a price reduction of up to 45% to its monthly data roaming tariff for European business travellers. From June 2008, the maximum charge for Vodafone’s monthly data roaming bundle will be lowered to €60 per month – a €15 price cut – company says. At the same time, the company will increase the amount of data a customer can use to at least 150MB in most European markets from 100MB, meaning that the price per megabyte will reduce by around 45%.  (more…)
