Ericsson announced that it is collaborating with Intel to bring HSPA mobile data solutions to Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs). Ericsson is thereby extending its 3G mobile broadband technology from notebooks to a range of pocket devices with various purposes. (more…)

Telefonica o2 Germany will offer a prepaid version of the o2 Surf Stick for the first time from October 1st. The stick enables web access for prepaid customers via UMTS/HSDPA.

Nokia has added the N78 to its global website which means that the official launch will be very soon. A full specification can be found below. A link to the Nokia N78 page is at the foot of this page. The Nokia N78 is designed to take advantage of the new suite of Nokia services, including the Nokia Music Store, Nokia Maps, and Share on Ovi - a new online service that enables consumers to share their personal media. The Nokia N78 is expected to start shipping during the second quarter of 2008, with an estimated retail price of approximately 350 euros, before taxes. (more…)

Mobile arm of Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, confirmed that Apple will soon announce a 3G-based iPhone and said that its Austrian customers would be among the first to get their hands on the new smart phone, according to a newspaper report from Vienna. Der Standard, an Austrian national daily, posted a story to its German-language Web site quoting T-Mobile saying a 3G iPhone would be available “soon” and that the Austria would be one the first markets to see the new Apple smart phone. LG Electronics has announced the launch of their new mobile phone product named LG-SH240 in the South Korean market. The company said that this mobile phone supports the 3G HSDPA capability. LG added that the special feature about this phone is that its keypad feels like human skin. (more…)

Just as we wrote before, Apple’s 3G iPhone is on it’s way, coming to the market in june, acording to several reports. First it was Gartner, who than denied it knows something. Than it was Bank of America. Some say even Steve Jobs confirms the project. Carrier partner AT&T has previously announced that a 3G iPhone will arrive in 2008. (more…)

I’m testing a Vodafone 3G+ HSDPA modem, and it seems the only problem right now is that i’m unable to digg stories or log into my Digg account. I can’t even to register again, I tried that. But if I acces my account from the home PC, everything is ok. So it must be the new connection, probably the security script thinks that I’m a spam robot or something

Sierra has added two new products to its lineup of HSPA mobile broadband modems. The AirCard 885E ExpressCard and the Compass 885 USB modem are small, full-featured, offer the latest high-speed mobile broadband technology for use worldwide. Looks similar to the iPhone, but Garmin Nuvifone has a proprietary Garmin OS, HSDPA, Quad-band GSM, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.5” touchscreen (not sure if its multi-touch, but that definitely is the same size screen as the iPhone).
The interface is completely touch based, it has 4 primary functions, web browsing, messaging, phone calls, and navigation, and from the sounds of it, it does them all quite well. It is also heavily integrated with Google, specifically in relation to navigational tasks. (more…)
