Verizon Wireless and Rhapsody launch V CAST, a service that delivers unlimited monthly access to music on up to three Rhapsody-compatible mobile phones and players and online on multiple PCs and Web browsers, for about the cost of a single CD. In addition, customers who purchase music over-the-air are able to download the master copy of the songs or albums to their PCs free of digital rights management (DRM) software that restricts how and where music can be played. Tennessee mobile phone users as the ‘textiest’ customers for sending and receiving the most SMS (short text messages) per month, according to a study carried by Verizon Wireless.   “Big City Wireless Use Study” revealed that customers in Nashville earned the number one spot as the states ‘textiest city’ with customers sending and receiving 819 million text messages from January to April 2008. Knoxville landed the number two position with over 420 million text messages during that same time period, while neighboring Chattanooga earned third place with 408 million text messages. (more…)
