Sonim XP1, mission imposible

 

CreativeFeed have put the world’s “toughest” GSM phone, the Sonim XP1, to the ultimate test with the launch of The Destroyer – a machine-operated hammer designed to pummel the phone twenty-four hours a day live over the internet at www.testanddestroy.com until it finally gives in and breaks. Inspired by the YouTube postings by both members of the public and European media, The Destroyer took approximately over four weeks to build and pounds the phone every eight seconds.   • The second trial after Viacom / Google about YouTube clips is set to begin soon: italian Mediaset company announced it found some 4.500 videoclips with it’s programs on YouTube sharing site, and it will require some 500 million euro (778 million dollars) damages. The YouTube team responded only that “respects copyright holders and takes copyright issues very seriously”.

    I say video sharing sites and file sharing are the same. It’s up to you and the industry to say if this is illegal or not.

  • Google announced that it received more traffic from iPhones this Christmas than from any other mobile device, despite owning only 2 percent of the smartphone market and less than 1 percent of the overall mobile-phone market. People were amazed, and me too. But today, i learned that YouTube was availabe ONLY on iPhone and Helio phones, until now. So it’s easy to see where was the real traffic growth, it’s video baby!

    In 2007, traffic to video sharing sites doubled and this growth will continue in 2008, says Pew Internet & American Life Project. Some 48% of internet users have been to video-sharing sites such as YouTube and the daily traffic to such sites on a typical day has doubled in the past year.
